“As a clueless DIY incompetent I know my own limit when it comes to jobs around the house, and my limit tends to be keeping the tools in the shed where they belong.

It is therefore very fortunate that I know someone like Nigel who can annoyingly do all the jobs that men are supposed to be able to do including the DIY tasks that my wife still fails to recognize are completely beyond my knowledge, ability or inclination.

As well as being a top chap, his workmanship is on another planet, as is his knowledge of the heavens, which proved highly useful on a recent visit when I was failing to help my son with his science astronomy homework revision until in stepped Nigel, our favourite star-gazing superhero of all things DIY home and gardens.

This man isn’t even intimidated by IKEA instructions.  Enough said.”
